The third day of action at DreamHack Open Stockholm concluded, and mousesports have qualified for the next major at DreamHack Open Cluj, while Winterfox will be going home early.

The first match of the day paired up the mousesports lineup, who had recently been invigorated with the addition of Bosnian player Nikola "NiKo" Kovač, against Winterfox, the newly signed Mythic organisation that comprises Swedes, Americans, and a Frenchman in its midst.

chrisJ propelled mouz forward into DH Cluj

The first map of de_dust2 was a gambit for both teams and stretched into overtime, although mouz managed to finally seal the map and win 19-17. The first half of the second map of de_cbble was fiercely contested as well, however mouz turned to playing a strong defense and walked away with the series after winning 16-11.

On mouz's side, it was Dutchman Chris "chrisJ" de Jong who put aside recent offline struggles and shone in his overall rating, whereas on Winterfox David "Xp3" Garrido led the stats and the frequently diminutive Todd "anger" Williams (at least when offline) underperformed.

The Americans of Team Liquid dueled with their Anglo-Saxon Australian counterparts of Renegades in the next game. A strong T-half on de_cbble by Team Liquid almost fell apart as Renegades clawed their way back, and the Australians ultimately took the map in a 16-14 fashion.

de_overpass was a 16-5 cakewalk for Eric "adreN" Hoag's Team Liquid (especially on the team's Terrorist half) and the third map once again saw another dominant Liquid T-half almost dissipate against a Renegades comeback, but the American team ultimately won the series by persevering on de_cache 16-13.

Spencer "Hiko" Martin impressed in his newfound team, with support from Nick "nitr0" Cannella and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski whereas Renegades saw youngster Justin "jks" Savage playing in a fine form throughout the series.

The winners' match, and thus the one determining which team would advance to the major, saw mousesports go up against Team Liquid.

Despite many rounds being closely contested, the overall scoreline on both maps tells the story of mousesports always being in control, both at halftimes and in closing out maps. The German team walked away with the victory and a successful major qualification bid: 16-10 on de_cache and 16-9 on de_cbble.

The final match of the day was the Group C elimination match and it would of course would determine the third team to leave the tournament early. Renegades managed to survive on the first map of de_train with a 16-13 win, a big part of which was due to Aaron "AZR" Ward's heroics which included a gun round ace that happened with lightning-fast speed.

Winterfox could find no answer on de_cache as well, and Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg's men were pummeled by a Renegades defense on the CT side especially, losing the map 10-16. Renegades have managed to persist until the consolidation match on Saturday against Team Liquid.
